As someone who tried to buy the original "Jesus" toaster years ago (it never arrived, nor did my refund, despite many attempts to contact the company), I was thrilled to see this come up in my Facebook feed. It arrived very quickly, is simple to use, and gives good panini results (and yes...the Jesus image comes through loud and clear!). A few changes I would make:
1. It would be nice if the plates were removable for cleaning. We had a lot of cheese bleed out of the sandwiches, which is normal, but getting everything clean has been a bit of a challenge.
2. It would be nice if it had an alarm and perhaps an automatic shut-off after about six minutes. It's easy to get distracted until the smell alerts you to the fact that Christ has been immolated (who needs a cross when you can have a burnt offering?)
Note that it would probably be less messy if I'd used regular square "sandwich" bread, but I wanted sourdough, and I can't find standard-shaped sourdough where I'm currently staying. Still, it was one yummy sandwich, with great caramelization! I cooked it for four minutes.
That said, I'm pleased with my purchase, and may buy one for a friend or two sometime down the road.
